Would strongly suggest trying to find community advocates and involving them in the process. Trying to figure out open data from inside the wall is not going to be as effective as working with the community.
ReplyDeleteWe would be interested in expanding the discussion beyond open data to include the broader discussion of open government and open information.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I’m not sure what the interest would be, but in June we invited the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner to come and speak at the City of Regina on Open Government and access to information. It was very informative and I think gave further insight into the value of open data and open information from an accountability and legislative compliance perspective.
